About Rosie

IMG_1417.JPG
I’m Rosie Alig, a speech-language pathologist and clinical educator based in Hadley, MA. I first came to Western Massachusetts as an undergraduate at Smith College, where I studied psychology and conducted research on autism and language. I then spent time as a direct care provider for individuals with developmental disabilities across the lifespan, during which I realized that supporting communication was the work I wanted to pursue.

After earning my master’s degree in Communication Disorders at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2019, I worked in the public school system providing evaluation, treatment, and consultation for students ages 3–18.

I specialize in culturally responsive and neurodiversity-affirming practice, with particular expertise in multilingual evaluation and autism. My approach is highly individualized and grounded in principles of play, autonomy, and collaboration. I speak English and Spanish and have experience using a variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and techniques. I also teach and provide professional education for graduate students and practicing clinicians.
