Evaluations

 

I provide holistic, evidence-based speech and language evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. Evaluations are available in English and Spanish and support both diagnosis and individualized recommendations for:

• Language disorders

• Speech sound and intelligibility disorders

• Social communication differences, including autism

• Complex communication needs, including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)​

My bilingual and multidialect assessments rely on a converging evidence approach (Castilla-Earls et al., 2020). Rather than focusing solely on standardized scores, I integrate:

Autism Evaluations

Drawing on both personal neurodivergent experience and over a decade of professional work with autistic children and adults, I aim to honor the full diversity of autistic communication.

My process emphasizes:

​

• Autonomy and collaboration

• Identifying strengths and barriers without imposing a neurotypical framework

• Customized supports—including sensory accommodations, building in breaks, and offering multiple communication modalities (e.g., AAC)

Before we meet, I will gather information about sensory preferences and communication needs. I can also provide visuals or text previews to help reduce anxiety and prepare for the appointment.

Educational Evaluations

With years of experience working in Western Massachusetts school districts, I specialize in comprehensive evaluations for students from preschool through high school, across:

• Intensive needs

• Moderate needs

• General education settings

I collaborate with treating clinicians, educators, and families to address complex questions about communication and learning. My experience includes supporting students with multiple disabilities, as well as those who have experienced relocation or trauma.
